“they wondered if it is possible to dance at the “speed of an image”. i wondered where the image is NOW and if it hears the same beat as i do.
choreographing the images, not its creation but its projection, on the walls, curtains, surfaces and textures, on the rhythm, beats and moments, where neither dislocation (movement in space) nor relation (connection between spatially separate things) describes what happens.”

swim\او is a performative research into the difference between body and presence by Setareh Fatehi. A woman moves in a landscape of loose hanging fabric, empty frames and projections. She wanders and dances. Around her are projections – live streams of friends on the other side of the planet, in their own kitchen or room. So close, yet so far away. When visitors get in touch through their own devices it creates a surprising web of online contacts. Two worlds are being connected with each other. swim\او is an invitation to dance collectively on top of the internet – a room filled with vulnerabilities, hitches and disturbances. Impossible like life itself.
Setareh Fatehi is a choreographer that studied at the School for New Dance Development and DAS Choreography. Her work combines bodies, wifi, screens and projections. She embraces live video as part of her being. Setareh works in Teheran and Amsterdam.
swim\او is a co-production of Veem House of Performance and Frascati Production.
