Soul Chain: Sharon Eyal & The Ballet of the Beats focuses on Sharon Eyal’s latest production Soul Chain at Staatstheater Mainz.
In interviews Eyal, and some of the dancers from the Ballett der Beats, talk about the choreographer’s intuitive approach and how she stimulates the dancers’ individual expression within a rigid structure.
The conversations intersperse and overlay the extensive recordings of the stage performance of this intense, trance-like performance. A dynamically filmed portrait and an intimate look at the physical and emotional experience of the dancers.
