Cinedans LAB presents: Sound & Narrative Workshop
hands-on workshop about the role of sound in dance film.
Watch with your ears. Sound navigates attention, suggests and works on a very deep level. Especially in dance film – an incredibly sensitive and poetic genre.
Cinedans LAB presents the intensive two-day Sound & Narrative Workshop. Han Otten, composer and sound designer for dance films and Nienke Rooijakkers, education manager and talent developer at Cinedans will make you hear (and see) what the impact of sound can be. Masterclass Talks will be interspersed with hands-on assignments.
A good sound score begins with the development of the film plan. Sound & Narrative is a workshop for choreographers/filmmakers and composers/sound designers. Assignments will be made in groups of two. During the two days of the workshop, you will create the first steps towards a sound concept.
You can apply as a duo or by yourself. In the case of the latter, we will couple you with a partner.
In addition to the workshop, we are delighted to announce that Han Otten will give an illustrated talk about sound in dance film on Thursday, March 26 in Eye.
You can apply before 12 March by sending an e-mail to nienke@cinedans.nl
