DAY 3 – Cinedans LAB
Cinedans LAB is the education and research division of Cinedans. With our LAB activities we support beginning and established makers to deepen the dance film as a genre and to stimulate it. We work with different educational institutes, from primary school to art schools and we organize intensive workshops and masterclasses.
Today’s program is divided in two parts:
Part 1: Talent Development
Part 2: Sound & Narrative
Part 1: Talent development
A week each year, Cinedans LAB is invited to be part of PACT+DANS, the dance programme of the ROC in Amsterdam. Students in their final year, can create their own dance film in the context of their final exam. Under the guidance of tutors from Cinedans LAB, they are fully responsible for the concept, direction, camera and editing of their film. On Cinedans WEB the final products of this year’s group of students will have a premiere for a broad audience.

We also premiere the short film Virgins by Camiel Zwart, that was created during the Cinedans LAB workshop in Rome, Italy, in collaboration with MACRO – Museo d’Arte Contemporanea Rome and Canova22.
