Louise Lecavalier – Battleground

For many years, Louise Lecavalier was the face of La La La Human Steps, the Canadian company that made a name for itself in the 1980s. She was a beast on the scene: brilliant and extremely strong. Reviewers called her ‘the most brilliant dancer of our time’.

With her dance performance Battleground, Lecavalier returns to exploring the boundaries of the physically possible. Together with Robert Abudo she uses the stage as an abstract arena, a stand-alone world where thousands of battles are fought. With raw, animalistic dance, fantasy and humor, Lecavalier tells a story about ideals and disappointments.
